Classroom Instruction That Works:
Research-Based Strategies for Increasing Student Achievement

by Robert J. Marzano, Debra J. Pickering, and Jane E. Pollock
Association for Supervision & Curriculum Development, 2001
ISBN: 0871205041

In the Fall 2000 issue of our Journal, we reported on the new research by Robert Marzano from the Mid-Continent Regional Educational Laboratory on 10 strategies that demonstrate the greatest correlation with academic achievement. We are happy to report that Classroom Instruction that Works expands the original report to include more practical applications, ways to teach specific types of knowledge, and how to include this material in educational planning. The book contains many helpful charts and diagrams and practical ways to apply the information in any subject matter area. This is a wonderful addition to the growing number of publications on teaching and learning practices that are grounded in solid research from the field.
