Please note:
Since its founding in 1980, New Horizons for Learning has been identifying, communicating, and helping to implement more effective ways of learning at all ages and abilities. We have done so through our conferences, workshops, consulting, publications, and since 1995 through our website that now receives around eight million hits a month. Our website is used by teachers, school administrators, professors and students of education, parents, policy makers, and media professionals. It has received numerous awards, including the most recent from the International Society for Technology in Education as one of the best education sites on the Internet.
After 26 years of voluntary service as a non-profit network, New Horizons for Learning will retire at the end of September, 2006 but our website will remain accessible at Digital Learning Commons.
The site can be accessed either through http://www.learningcommons.org/educators/teachingresources/data.php , or through its original URL: http://www.newhorizons.org. The current issue of New Horizons for Learning's online Journal will be the last for the time being, but all 50 issues will remain accessible in the archive. Ann Tracey, our network manager, will answer emails each week from info@newhorizons.org. Dee Dickinson, founder/chief learning officer, will retire, but can be reached at deedickinson@comcast.net. We have all had a remarkable adventure in learning through our organization that has from the very beginning created a life of its own. Life changing experiences have resulted for everyone involved, and we trust that our website will continue for some time to be a valuable resource to the world of education.
