Breathing the Breath of Life: Video and Instruction Manual
by Robert Dickinson, L.Ac
New Horizons for Learning, 2001Robert Dickinson's video of Taiji-Qigong exercises and his instruction manual are invaluable tools for relaxing from stress, focusing attention, and enhancing health. They are based on many years of teaching and observing the positive results of these practices in the lives of his students.
The exercises in the fifty-minute video are easy to learn and are facilitated by the instructions in the manual in which numerous additional exercises are described. Many are appropriate for use in classrooms as ways to help students to relax and focus their minds before exams, as a break after intensive study, and as effective ways to reduce stress for both teachers and students. Other exercises are useful for energizing and developing greater alertness.
All of the exercises have been used successfully by people of all ages in homes, schools, rehabilitation centers, and programs for the elderly. They may be used one or two at a time, or all of them together as shown on the video.
Robert Dickinson is a licensed acupuncturist, student, teacher, and practitioner of Traditional Oriental Medicine and has studied, taught and practiced the oriental health arts both nationally and internationally. He completed his internship in China where he also studied with some of the great Taiji-Qigong masters.
